Welcome to this weeks installment of In Focus. We caught up with Jay Golien last week fresh after a surf session in North San Diego. And I mean fresh out of the water – he took the call from the sand and I could hear waves breaking in the background…awesome.

Lance has been taking pictures his whole life but got serious in 1972 when he declared photography as his college major. Yes, he was in college and shooting action sports in 1972. Pretty awesome

Ben’s style is a classic one. In our world of Photoshopped photos he prefers to keep it real. He explained he wants to bring you an image of what it was really like in real life – as close to the human eye as possible. So when you see his photos from the Wedge when those 25’ bombs were coming in just know they haven’t been given a face-lift.

Just a few short weeks ago we announced the winner of the Greenroom Sweepstakes. Naturally we timed our “supposedly semi-mellow” photo session during one of the biggest S-swells we have had this year. Fortunately our winner Andrew and his brother Alex charged the 10ft bombs in Newport Saturday morning and scored a few corners.
